Legal Context
Engineering
Build Better Context for Legal AI. Develop Career-Ready Skills for the Future of Legal Work.
Move beyond one-off prompts. Learn how to structure legal context, connect trusted sources and turn recurring legal tasks into reusable AI-enabled workflows.
The Legal Brain — a context graph
Why it works
Better legal context leads to more reliable legal outputs.
Learn how to turn your legal knowledge and professional judgment into a Legal Brain: a structured system of interconnected roles, knowledge, memory, instructions and trusted sources that gives AI the context it needs for real legal work.
Instead of rebuilding context for every task or spending excessive time checking unsupported claims, you will learn why AI hallucinates, how to ground its outputs in traceable references, and how to make human verification faster and more focused.
Develop a career-ready Legal AI skill that strengthens your position in a changing legal market and stand out for potential opportunities to join Legal Nodes and work alongside a team at the forefront of AI-enabled legal work.
Please note that participation in the course does not guarantee employment, an interview, or any future role with Legal Nodes, and Legal Nodes is under no obligation to offer employment or other professional opportunities to participants.
The research signal
Why structured context matters
Accuracy with standard RAG.
Accuracy when standard RAG was augmented with structured knowledge-graph context and source documents.
Best observed improvement over the standard RAG baseline, measured in percentage points (pp).
Source: Stanford CS224N Custom Project, “Mapping the Mind: Knowledge-Graph Augmented Retrieval.” Evaluated with GPT-4 on the QuALITY long-context question-answering dataset. These results come from a general long-context question-answering benchmark, not from legal tasks, and are cited as supporting evidence for the value of structured, knowledge-graph augmented context.
